Without much thought I got my kit together this morning and brought it to the office. The most unfortunate thing is that when I switched from old bike messenger bag to professional lady person laptop bag, I forgot to include my office badge and keys. So awesome and pointless drive to Columbia this morning. Lucky me. “That’s alright. I’ll at least run the Gateway Loop while I’m here.” As I shuffled to get my shoes and vest my stomach sent a clear message that I was not running and needed a restroom instead. Again, I have no office keys. Grr.

My stomach settled a bit during the drive back home. And after taking care of business I researched some 3 mile distances in the neighborhood and took off. I settled on some switchbacks through a set of side streets. The first two switches had really nice hills I’ll have to remember that. But all in all I felt really good. Other than my shoulders (which are just naturally big giant knots) nothing felt too tight. My stride feels a little lopsided but I think that’s mostly the result of running on crooked sidewalks and asphalt.

I made it to Day 2 (shut up I’m trying to stay positive here) and no excuses yet!

Last night we went down to National Harbor to check out MAGFest 2012.

We got there late so most of the panels and stuff were over, just game tournaments and a huge ass line for the Angry Video Game Nerd. We did not wait for him. Dan finally got to meet Arcas the creator of Fortress Craft. He got some awesome hammer. I don’t really know what that means, but it’s really rare and he’s IN THE CODE of the game so he’s happy. I ran around and got distracted by asian things… ok mainly asian foods.

Hello tasty snackage!

I found mango flavored Hi-Chew and jelly candy yesterday at MAGFest. I think I can get the stuff at my local 7-eleven, but it’s so much more tasty when surrounded by other asian junk foods.

DanceMasters on 360+kinect (that guy was working it)

MAGFest was different. It was a lot smaller than what I’m used to, but the dealers and artists area was decent, and there were of course, tons of video games. Really though, I was more excited about the candy.

I LOVE DDR. I used to dream of owning one of these giant ass machines.
